In all these applications, the applicants are seeking extension of transit anticipatory bail granted by this Court vide order dated 15th April 2021.

The applicants were apprehending arrest in relation to summons issued u/s.70 of CGST Act, 1944 r/w Section 83 of Finance Act, 1995 and Section 14 of Central Excise Act, 1944. Learned advocate for applicants submit that on account of pandemic situation and lock down, the applicants could not approach the concerned Court for seeking appropriate relief. Hence, relief granted by this Court may be extended by a period of four weeks. Learned counsel for applicant in Interim Application No.1608 of 2021 in addition submitted that one of the applicants was found positive for Covid-19. 3.

Learned counsel for respondent no.2 vehemently opposed the relief sought in this application. Learned APP appearing for State also opposed the grant of extension. It is submitted that sufficient time was granted to the applicants and period of transit bail granted by this Court had already expired. Thus, applications are not maintainable.

On perusal of the order passed by this Court it is clear that for a temporary period anticipatory bail was granted to the applicants to

3 of 3 8.IA.1567.2021.doc enable them to approach appropriate Court. The period has come to an end. The applications are filed after expiry of the said period. There is no reason to extend relief granted by this Court. Hence, all Interim Applications are rejected.
