The above Civil Application has been filed seeking condonation of delay of 634 days in filing the Cross Objections. The Applicants are the deprived land holders whose lands have been acquired for the New Bombay Project. It is the case of the Applicants that on account of the acquisition of their lands, they have lost their livelihood and that they have to take hand loans to meet their day to day needs. It is also stated in the above Civil Application that the Applicants in view of the fact that that they did not have the financial wherewithal to file the above Cross Objection, could not approach this Court earlier and have filed the Cross Objection only after making financial arrangements. In our view having regard to the reasons mentioned in the above Civil Application, case for exercise of discretion in favour of the Applicants is made out.
