The learned advocate for the petitioner submits that the application filed by the petitioner seeking appointment on compassionate ground is not yet decided.

In normal course, we would not have entertained the writ petition and would have relegated the petitioner before the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT). However, since a request is made that the respondent may be directed to decide the representation and in light of the fact that the matter is pending since long time, we pass the following order: - (i) Respondent no. 1 shall decide the representation/ application of the petitioner (at page 43) on its own merits and in accordance with law and policy expeditiously, preferably within six months from today.

With the aforesaid direction, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
