This is an application for suspension of sentence awarded by the Trial Court vide Judgment and Order dated 13th April, 2010 while convicting the applicant for the offence punishable under Section 138 of Negotiable Instruments Act. 2.

The applicant was sentenced to undergo the simple imprisonment for one month and was directed to pay Rs.75,000/- as compensation. The appeal preferred by the applicant was dismissed vide Judgment and Order dated 12th February, 2018. 3.

The Criminal Revision Application preferred by the

Sknair 7-appr-260-18.odt applicant has been admitted by this Court on 24th May, 2018. 4.

The learned Advocate for the applicant on instructions submit that the applicant has deposited an amount of Rs.15,000/- before the Trial Court during the pendency of appeal. He further states on instructions that the balance amount of Rs.60,000/- towards compensation shall be deposited in this Court within a period of one week from today. The statement is accepted. 5.

In the aforesaid circumstances, till next date of hearing, the sentence imposed by the Trial Court vide Judgment and Order dated 13th April, 2010 which was confirmed by the Sessions Court vide order dated 12th February, 2018 is suspended and the applicant is directed to be released on bail on furnishing PR Bond of Rs.20,000/- with one or more sureties in the like amount.
