Learned APP places on record Government Circular dated 16 June 2016 issued by Women and Child Development Department, Government of Maharashtra. It is taken on record and marked "X" for identification. The said circular states that Child Welfare Committee, Thane is not fully constituted and functional. The Child Welfare Committee constituted for Mumbai City-2 is functioning. By the above Circular, the State Government has directed to hand over the charge of Thane Child Welfare Committee to Child Welfare Committee, Mumbai City-2. The Deputy Secretary of the Women and Child Development Department is present in the Court.

We direct Child Welfare Committee, Mumbai City-2 to take up application dated 4 April 2016, which is Exhibit-G to this petition (page 36) on priority basis and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law. Learned APP to communicate this order forth to Child Welfare Committee, Mumbai City-2 forthwith.

We direct the Principal Secretary of Women and Child Development Department, Government of Maharashtra, to verify the status of functioning of all such Committees in each district of State of Maharashtra by calling reports from the respective Collectors of the districts.

With the above directions, the petition stands disposed of. Copy of this order be sent to the Principal Secretary of Women and Child Development Department, Government of Maharashtra, Mumbai.
