The challenge in this writ petition is to the action taken by the authorities under the Public Premises (Eviction of Unauthorised Occupants) Act, 1971. The aggrieved persons have alternative statutory remedy of filing an appeal. 2.

Since there is alternative statutory remedy, we are not entertaining the writ petition. However, it is made clear that it will be open for the petitioners to approach the appropriate Court for redressal of their grievance by way of statutory appeal.
