The only prayer made in this petition is issuance of mandamus to the Corporation to supply new water connection to the premises of the petitioner. There is no prayer made for grant of damages to the petitioner.

Learned counsel for the Corporation has tendered across the bar a communication dated 4th August 2023 sent to the petitioner. It is taken on record and marked as '
Document A' for identification.

Document-A states that action of providing new water supply connection to the premises of the petitioner is taken. So, we are of the view that the Document-A satisfies the need of the petitioner and thus serves the purpose of this petition. Accordingly we dispose of the petition in terms of letter dated 4th August 2023, Document-A while directing respondent nos. 1 to 3 to provide fresh water supply connection to the premises of the petitioner within a period of one week from the date of the order, on payment of necessary charges and if not paid already and the petitioner complying with the necessary conditions.

Mr. Narendra Deokar, Deputy Engineer of Pune Municipal Corporation is personally present before this Court and he is identified by the learned counsel for the Corporation. He states that the directions so given by this Court shall be complied with by the Corporation within a period of 8 days. The statement is accepted and is treated as undertaking to this Court.
