By the present Civil Application the applicant / employer has sought extension of time to complete the inquiry against the petitioner who was placed under suspension and was subsequently dismissed from service. Since this Court expressed that the termination was not justified in absence of any inquiry, a statement made before this Court that a regular inquiry would be conducted and completed within period of two months. On 7th January 2019 the statement was accepted as an undertaking to the Court and though the suspension was allowed to continue the dismissal order was set aside.

The application seeks extension of time for completion of inquiry and is accompanied by a letter from the Inquiry Officer, a Retired District Judge explaining the circumstances as to why the inquiry could not be completed within given time. The letter proceeds to state that more complaints have been received and they are being inquired into simultaneously in order to avoid multiplicity. We have perused the said application and the reasons stated therein. We are satisfied that the extension needs to be granted for completion of the inquiry since this is at the fag end. Though the application prays for four months time, the learned counsel would submit that the inquiry would be completed within period of two months. We therefore, extend the time for completion of inquiry against Shri. Mahadev Tukaram Ujagare by further period of two months from today and direct that the same to be completed in any contingency by 31st July, 2019.
