IN THE HIGH COURT OF JUDICATURE AT BOMBAY
CRIMINAL APPELLATE JURISDICTION CRIMINAL WRIT PETITION NO. 2120 OF 2016 Kacharu Baburao Vaidya : Petitioner.
Versus
The State of Maharashtra : Respondent.
Through Jail - None for the Petitioner.
Ms. S D Shinde, APP for the Respondent/State. CORAM : S. S. SHINDE, MILIND N. JADHAV, JJ DATE : 10th June 2022 P.C.
The grievance raised by the Petitioner is that, on 17/05/2016 he did complete 15 years and 8 months sentence and requested for remission and to release him from the jail. By this time, the Petitioner might have completed 22 years of sentence.
Be that as it may, in case the grievance of the Petitioner still subsists, we direct the concerned Authorities to look into the grievance raised by the Petitioner and to consider his prayer for remission and releasing him from the jail, if already not released, as expeditiously as possible and within a period of eight weeks from the receipt of copy of this order. With the above observations, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. The Registry of this Court shall send a copy of this order to the concerned Authorities who in turn shall communicate the same to the Petitioner.
