This is a petition filed under Section 29A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, seeking extension of time period and mandate of the sole arbitrator upto 31.03.2022.

Additionally, the learned counsel for the parties inform this Court that the parties have settled their dispute and the arbitrator has to proceed on the basis of the settlement.

In view of the specific contentions raised on behalf of the petitioner, which are not disputed by the respondent, in the interest of justice, the present petition is allowed. Accordingly, the time period for the sole arbitrator to pronounce the award is extended upto 31.03.2023. 4.

Petition is disposed of.
