The communication dated 24-2-2014, addressed by the City Survey Officer, Andheri to the Petitioners is taken exception to by way of the above Petition.

The said communication has been addressed pursuant to the letter dated 27-1-2014 addressed by the Petitioners to the City Survey Officer, Andheri. The background to the said letter dated 27-1-2014 addressed by the Petitioners to the City Survey Officer, Andheri, is the order dated 19-2-1996 passed by the Superintendent of Land Records, Mumbai Suburban District, by which order, the City Survey Officer was directed to reinquire into the entries made in respect of City Survey No.562 of Village Andheri. It appears that though the matter was remanded by the Superintendent of Land Records, it remained dormant until the Petitioners addressed the said letter dated 27-1mmj

Since what the Petitioners are seeking is the implementation of the order dated 19-2-1996 passed by the Superintendent of Land Records, it would be appropriate to direct the Petitioners to file an application before the Superintendent of Land Records, Mumbai Suburban District, for the said relief. If any such application is made by the Petitioners, the Superintendent of Land Records is directed to consider the same appropriately that is in accordance with law, in the light of the directions that he has already issued, the same to be done expeditiously as sufficient time has already elapsed.
