The Petition is filed by the father of juvenile who is involved in FIR No.118 of 2023 registered with Jogeshwari Police Station for the offence punishable under Sections 376 (2)(j) of Indian Penal Code and Sections 6, 8 and 12 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences. The Petitioner is seeking direction to the Juvenile Justice Board for deciding the application for bail preferred on behalf of the Petitioner's son (juvenile) expeditiously. 2.

10-WP-1969-2023.doc application for bail was preferred on 12th June, 2023. However, the said application has been adjourned to 23rd June, 2023. It is submitted that since the Petitioner's son is a juvenile the application for bail may be directed to be decided expeditiously. From the averment made in this Petition the reason for listing the application for bail on 23rd June, 2023 is not clear.

Learned APP submitted that the initially FIR was registered with Khar Police Station vide C.R. No.446 of 2023 and subsequently it has been transferred to Jogeshwari Police Station. The concerned officer connected with Jogeshwari Police it is submitted that the reply to the application for bail would be filed on or before the next date of hearing before the Juvenile Justice Board.

In this circumstances, the Juvenile Justice Board is requested to decide the application for bail preferred by the Petitioner's son expeditiously on the next date of hearing i.e. 23rd June, 2023 or within a period of two weeks from 23rd June, 2023. 5.

Petition stands disposed off.
