After arguing for some time, Mr. Chagla, learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the petitioners may be given liberty to file a complaint under Section 124(6) of the Maharashtra Village Panchayats Act to the State Government and the State Government may be directed to take an appropriate decision of the said complaint as expeditiously as possible.

Having regard to the aforesaid limited prayer, we are disposing of these petitions with liberty to the petitioners to submit complaint as provided under Section 124(6) of the Maharashtra Village Panchayats Act within two weeks from today. On receipt of such complaint, the State Government shall consider and take appropriate decision on it in accordance with law as expeditiously as possible and preferably within eight weeks from the date of receipt of the same. 3.
