2) On 09/08/2016, this Court (Coram: Revati Mohite Dere, J.) was considering Revision Application No. 558 of 2015 filed by original complainant Supriya Tanna thereby challenging the Judgment of acquittal passed in favour of respondent. This Court has recorded that applicant has sought liberty to withdraw the revision in view of the fact that in the interregnum, parties have amicably settled their dispute. Despite this, State has filed present writ petition challenging the Judgment and Order of acquittal of the respondent under section 498 (A) of the Indian Penal Code. The very fact that the couple has obtained divorce by consent and have settled the dispute, no fruitful purpose will be served by keeping the present petition pending. 3) Hence, petition stands dismissed and disposed of.
