The applicant suffered a conviction under Section 12 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, and was sentenced for two years rigorous imprisonment. Aggrieved, the applicant has filed Criminal Appeal No. 942 of 2017.

2. In that appeal, now the appellant has filed this Criminal Application No. 894 of 2019. He wants his passport renewed for 10 years. Earlier on this Court's direction, the Passport Authority 1/2

Seema 38. APPA 894 of 2019.odt has renewed the passport for one year.

3. When the appellant wanted further renewal, it seems that the authority has insisted that there should be a direction from the Court.

4. Earlier, the authority renewed the passport for one year, and there was no incident of the applicant's abusing the passport.

5. Therefore, the Passport Authority will consider the applicant's request for having the passport renewal for 5 years. Accordingly, The Criminal Application No. 894 of 2019 stands disposed of.
