P.C:- This petition is through jail based on communication issued by the Petitioner.

The Petitioner has represented that he is undergoing term of sentence at Vadodra Central Jail and, thereafter, at Navsari Sub Jail since 17 years (now 20 years). His appeal was dismissed by this Court on 27 October 2005. He has stated that he was granted furlough on 14 occasions and he surrendered in time and his behaviour was good. He further stated that his application for premature release has been sent by Gujarat Government to the Collector of Union Territory of

sg 2/2 5.wp2425-17.doc Dadra & Nagar Haveli. However, the same has not been decided. 3.

The Advocate appointed for the Petitioner is not present. The learned Counsel appearing for the Union Territory has no instructions.

We dispose of this writ petition directing the Respondent Union Territory of Dadra & Nagar Haveli to decide the application/proposal of the Petitioner's premature release, as per law, if not already decided, within period of six weeks and communicate the outcome to the Petitioner.

Writ petition is, accordingly, disposed of.
