It is a prosecution under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act. The Petitioner is accused therein. It is her grievance that she has not been permitted to cross-examine the complainant nor has she been permitted to lead evidence in her defence. The trial court has now kept the matter for judgment.

Learned Advocate for the Petitioner submits that the case

sg 2/2 25.wp3618-22.doc may be made time bound. The Petitioner will cooperate with the proceedings in the trial court.

It is the case of a cheque amounting to Rs.10 lakhs. The Petitioner is said to have paid a sum of Rs. 1 lakh to the Respondent/complainant. Without prejudice to her rights, the Petitioner shall deposit a sum of Rs.1 lakh more in the trial court. 5.

The trial court is requested to conclude the proceedings within a time-frame of eight months from the date of receipt of copy of this order.

The trial court shall not pass judgment in the matter, said to be scheduled to be passed today.

Petition stands disposed of.
