The grievance of the petitioner as submitted by the learned counsel for the petitioner, is that his application for issuance of caste validity certificate is pending before the Caste Scrutiny Committee since the year 2008 and so far no decision has been taken. In our view, this is an inordinately long period. There is no reason as to why the Committee should not have disposed of that application within a reasonable time. Hence, we issue following direction:- i) The petitioner'

s application shall be decided within a period of four months from today. If it is not so decided, appropriate action will follow.
