The Applicant came to be arrested on 22/08/2018 in C.R.No.308 of 2018 in which he faces the charge under Sections 302, 120-B, 109, 143, 144, 147, 148, 149, 323, 504 of the Indian Penal Code, under Sections 4, 25, 27 of the Arms Act as well as under Section 135 of the Maharashtra Police Act and continued to be incarcerated since then. This is his third application, whereby he seeks his release on bail. 2.

On haring the learned counsel for the Applicant and the learned A.P.P. for the State and on perusal of the material in the charge-sheet, since I am of the opinion that the role M.M.Salgaonkar

2/2 14 BA-1708-23.odt attributed to him in the charge-sheet do not deserve his release on bail, in the wake of the role attributed to him, learned counsel seeks permission to withdraw the application. He would, however, make a request that considering the five years incarceration of the Applicant, the trial be expedited, as on the first occasion, when his first bail application was rejected, this Court had directed expediency in conclusion of the trial, but the order was not abided by. 3.

On such request being made, I direct the Sessions Court, Sangli to expedite the trial in Sessions Case No.153 of 2020 and make every endeavour to conclude it by the end of December, 2024.

With the aforesaid direction, the Application stands disposed off, as withdrawn.
