This is an application by an accused in Sessions Case Nos.18/2015 and 17/2015 pending on the file of the learned Additional Sessions Judge, Khed, District Ratnagiri with a request to expedite the hearing of both Sessions Cases. 2.
It is seen that Sessions Case No.18/2015 is arising out of Crime No.4/2015 registered with Shirgaon Police Station and Sessions Case No.17/2015 is arising out of Crime No.3/2015 registered with Sarvade Police Station. 1/2

The learned APP, on instructions, submits that in Sessions Case No.18/2015 in all six witnesses are examined. In Sessions Case No.17/2015, according to the learned APP, six witnesses are examined. The learned APP, on instructions, makes a statement that prosecution is taking all necessary steps to expedite the trial by keeping the applicant / accused present before the trial Court almost on all dates of hearing. The learned APP further submits that the applicant is habitual offender and against him cases are pending at several Courts. 4.
Be that as it may, as recording of evidence in both the Sessions Cases has already begun, the application is disposed of with a request to the learned Additional Sessions Judge, Khed, District Ratnagiri to take efforts to dispose of both Sessions Cases as early as possible and preferably within a period of 9 months from the date of receipt of the writ of this Court.

The application is disposed of accordingly.

Registry is directed to send a copy of this order to the applicant / accused.
