The petitioner submits that mine lease was granted in his favour on 25th August, 1995. The lease lapsed on 28th April, 2011. The petitioner claimed that he challenged the order of lapsing on 24th December, 2013. Hearing before the Designated Officer completed on 30th June, 2014. It is the petitioner's grievance that since then no order was passed by the respondent no.1.

Learned AGP submits that in view of Section 4A(4) of the Mines and Minerals Act as the petitioner filed the proceedings beyond period of six months, the designated authority is unable to pass orders on merits. 3.

Without expressing any opinion on the submissions advanced, we direct the respondent no.1 to pass a reasoned order in accordance with law within four weeks from today. With aforesaid directions, Writ Petition stands disposed of.
