DATE : 3 FEBRUARY 2020 P.C.:- Limited prayer is made in this Petition for early disposal of the proceedings pending before the Scrutiny Committee in respect of the caste certificate issued to the Petitioner as belonging to "Thakur - Scheduled Tribe".

It appears that the Respondent - Employer of the Petitioner made a reference to the Respondent - Scrutiny Committee in the year 2003. Since the Scrutiny Committee did not decide the proceedings, a notice was issued on 30 June 2017 to produce the caste certificate within a month. Only after the Respondent - 1/2
44. wp 7598-17.doc Employer has issued a notice that the Petitioner moved this Court for early disposal of the proceedings.

Be that as it may, the proceedings are pending since long and they will have taken to the logical end. The learned AGP states that these proceedings pending before the Scrutiny Committee will be completed within a period of 8 weeks. It is informed that the Vigilance Cell inquiry is on the verge of being completed. Since a thorough inquiry will have to be made as grant of validity certificate has various implications, to give sufficient time to the Respondents, we direct that the proceedings before the Scrutiny Committee be completed within a period of 12 weeks from today. This is subject to Petitioner co-operating with the early disposal of the proceedings.

Till these proceedings are completed as above, ad-interim protection granted in this Petition to continue. 5.
