On 9 February 2022, the following order was passed and the matter was kept today.

"

The learned AGP states that though affidavit in reply is filed which only states that an alternate remedy is available, according to the oral instructions the stand of the Department on merits may be different and perhaps in favour of the Petitioner.

The learned AGP states that written communication in that regard will be sought. Stand over to 10 February 2022."

The learned AGP states that written instructions have been received from Assistant Commissioner, Social Welfare Department that the benefit sought for by the Petitioners regarding time bound promotion/ACPs would be extended in favour of the Petitioners. The learned AGP states that the proposal was however sent on behalf of the Petitioners by a Union and it is necessary that individual proposals be submitted. The learned Counsel for the Petitioners states that this would be done within period of two weeks from today. If the proposals are so submitted within period of two weeks in light of the stand taken by the Assistant Commissioner, the benefits be released to the Petitioners within period of six weeks thereafter. The learned Counsel for the Petitioners states that they are satisfied with these directions. Writ Petition is accordingly disposed of.
