The case of the petitioners is that the amount of compensation payable to them, for acquisition of their land, for the project "Mukane Dam" has attained finality in view of the judgment and order dated 19 July 2007 passed by the Division Bench of this Court in First Appeal No.896 of 2005. The case of the petitioners is that they accordingly became entitled for the benefits which would arise in view of the judgment of the Division Bench of this Court in the said First Appeal. However, there is complete inaction on the part of the Respondents to deposit and release the compensation amount payable to the petitioners.

Considering the above limited grievance of the petitioners, we consider it appropriate to dispose of this petition by directing the State Government to take necessary action by treating this petition as a representation of the petitioners. The respondents shall take a decision on this representation within a period of eight weeks from today and communicate the same to the petitioners.
