1] The Appellants are admitted to interim protection by order dated 19.07.2023 and the protection continued till date. It is the specific submission advanced on behalf of the Appellants that during the course of investigation, as regards the accusation of hurling castiest abuses within public view, there is only statement of one of the friend of Appellants, which is recorded and since he is an interested witness and not an independent member of the public, his statement will not inspire confidence and will have to be read with caution. Apart from this, according to him, there is no independent witness who has corroborated the complainant upon castiest abuses having been hurled.
Apart from this, in respect of other offences, custodial interrogation is not necessary.
2] Today the learned APP on instructions make the statement that investigation is complete and the Appellants have rendered cooperation in the investigation and charge sheet is likely to be filed within a period of two weeks.
