The Caste Scrutiny Committee, on 4th October, 2018, while disposing of the claim of caste validation, has cancelled the caste certificate dated 22nd February, 2008, issued by SubDivisional Officer, Mangaon, as it was not in the prescribed proforma. The Petitioner, in observance of directions of the Committee, has tendered a caste certificate, dated 14th January, 2019, along with the proposal in prescribed proforma to the Scrutiny Committee on 17th May, 2019. Since the Petitioner has already tendered a proposal to the Scrutiny Committee for verification of the caste certificate issued to him, it would be obligatory on the Scrutiny Committee to conduct verification in observance of the procedure prescribed under the law, after extending an opportunity of hearing to the 1/2

905-WP7508-19.DOC Petitioner and take appropriate decision in respect of the validation of the caste certificate issued to the Petitioner on 14th January, 2019, as expeditiously as possible, preferably within four months from today and it is accordingly directed. 2.

The Petitioner shall appear before the Scrutiny Committee on 25th July, 2019 and as such, no separate notice requiring presence of the Petitioner before the Scrutiny Committee shall be necessary.

In view of the above directions, the writ petition stands disposed of.
