The claim of the Petitioners is that on completion of five years service in the selection grade they would be entitled to basic pay being fixed at `.14,940/-. This issue was decided by a Division bench of this Court on 13 April 2012 in Writ Petition No.4475 of 2011. It was held that Associate Professors on completion of five years service in the selection grade would be entitled to basic pay of `.14,940/-. The said decision has been challenged before the Supreme Court and on grant of Special Leave To Appeal, Civil Appeal No.6510 of 2016 awaits final adjudication before the Supreme Court.

Thus we dispose of the Writ Petition granting a declaratory relief.

The Respondents shall abide by the final decision taken by the Supreme Court in Civil Appeal No.6510 of 2016 qua the Petitioners as well.
