This petition was filed on 15 July 2017 seeking a direction to appoint the Petitioner on compassionate ground on suitable and eligible post.

It is not necessary to detail the facts of the case, as during the pendency of the petition, a waiting list of eligible candidates is prepared by the Education Officer, Secondary Satara, Jilha Parishad Satara. It is informed by the learned Counsel for the Petitioner that the Petitioner's name is included in the waiting list. That being the position, the question of eligibility of the Petitioner is accepted by the Respondents. As regard to the actual Sneha Chavan page 1 of 2

18 WP 8595-17 appointment order is concerned, the learned Counsel for the Petitioner has drawn our attention to the policy of the State Government dated 31 December 2002 as applicable wherein a waiting list of eligible candidates is contemplated and modalities are been led down as to how the appointments are to be given to those who are on waiting list. This waiting list, we are informed, has been notified in the year 2020. Once the Petitioner's entitlement is accepted and he is taken in the waiting list, we have no reason to disbelieve the respondent will not implement the policy and not appoint the Petitioner as per Petitioner's turn when suitable vacancies arise.

In view thereof, directing that the necessary steps be taken in respect of the Petitioner's inclusion on the waiting list as per the concerned policy, Writ Petition is disposed of. (C.V. BHADANG, J.) (NITIN JAMDAR, J.) Sneha Chavan page 2 of 2
