DATE : 18 FEBRUARY 2022 P.C:- Heard Mr. Bandiwadekar, learned Counsel for the Petitioner and learned AGP, who appears for Respondent Nos. 1 and 2, by waiving notice. There is no need to issue notice to the remaining Respondent Nos. 3 and 4, as what the learned Counsel, on instructions, has sought is a limited relief regarding rendering of the decision on the proposal sent by Respondent No.4 to the Education Officer.

Considering the fact that the proposal seeking approval of Respondent No.2 dated 9 January 2016 for the compassionate appointment of the Petitioner is pending for quite long time, it would be appropriate that necessary directions are issued to Respondent No.2 for his expeditious disposal.

Accordingly, the petition is partly allowed. Respondent No.2 is directed to decide the proposal in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible, preferable within eight weeks from the date of the order.

Rule made absolute and the writ petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs.
