The learned Addl. P. P. on instructions of PSI - Rane of the Nagpada Police Station, Mumbai, states that the Investigating Officer has changed and it is now API - Raut who would be carrying out the investigation in terms of the order passed by the learned Metropolitan Magistrate.

Having regard to the mandate of Section 154 of the Code of Criminal Procedure and especially the proviso thereto and considering the

2/2 41-wp.2978.2018.doc fact that the complainant is a woman, we direct that the mandate of the proviso in the matter of a woman police officer recording the statement of the complainant would be followed by the Investigating Officer. 3.

We expect that the said process would be completed expeditiously as already a period of around six months has elapsed since the FIR came to be lodged on 16th January, 2018. 4.

With the directions as aforesaid, the Writ Petition is disposed of.
