The learned AGP Mrs. Thakur tenders the letter dated 11.09.2018 addressed by the Joint Secretary in the Social Justice and Special Assistance Department, Government of Maharashtra addressed to the President of the Petitioner Sanghatana. By the said letter, it is communicated that the application of the Petitioner under Rule 29 of the Maharashtra Civil Services Conduct Rules, 1979 has been rejected. In view of the said communication, albeit issued belatedly, there is now no warrant to proceed in the contempt jurisdiction.

The Contempt Petition is, accordingly, disposed of. 3.

However, it would be open for the Petitioner to challenge the said communication dated 11.09.2018 by filing appropriate proceeding. 1/2

Needless to state if any such proceeding is filed, the same would be considered on its own merits and in accordance with law. 5.
