By this application, the applicant seeks a direction to the Regional Passport Office, Mumbai, to renew his passport bearing No.L3090823 which will expire on 19th February 2024. It is not in dispute that the applicant was prosecuted in connection with an offence under Section 307 r/w 34 of the Indian Penal Code, arising out of C.R. No.193 of 2009 registered with the Nagpada Police Station, N. S. Chitnis 1/2

916-ia.2530.2023.doc Mumbai. After a full fledged trial, the applicant came to be acquitted of all the offences with which he was charged by the trial Court. 3.

Being aggrieved by the Judgment and Order of acquittal passed by the trial Court, the State of Maharashtra preferred an appeal against the said acquittal being Criminal Appeal No.843 of 2011. It appears that the said appeal has been admitted by this Court vide order dated 12th July 2011. It appears that the applicant's passport was renewed earlier, pursuant to an order passed by this Court. 4.

In this light of the matter, the application is allowed. Accordingly, we direct the Regional Passport Office, Mumbai, to renew the applicant's passport bearing No.L3090823 for 10 years, as per the Passport Act and the Rules, thereunder.
