When this PIL is called for hearing, Mr. Rodrigues submits that the petition was initially filed as a writ petition and was converted as PIL at the request of the petitioner. The only grievance of the petitioner in this petition and in respect of which relief is sought is continuation of respondent no.5 as the Registrar of the Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University, Nasik.

Today, it is pointed out by Mr. Rodrigues that respondent no.5 has resigned and expressed his desire not to continue in the said post. In view thereof, the grievance of the petitioner, which is a gravamen of the complaint, is addressed. 3.
