Heard rival submissions on this application for bail and suspension of sentence during the pendency of the appeal. Today, appeal preferred by the appellant is admitted. The applicant is convicted for the offence under section 13 (1) (d) r/w 13 (2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act and sentenced to suffer RI for one year and to pay a fine of Rs.5000/- in default to suffer S.I.for five months. Reportedly, fine amount is already paid. During the trial, the applicant was on bail. Now also he is on bail till filing of the appeal. Hence, in the opinion of this Court, he can be released on bail during the pendency of the appeal.
