The learned Advocate Dhanalaksmi Iyer, for the Applicant who filed this Application is now appointed as APP/AGP, therefore her appearance stands discharged.

The learned Advocate C. M. Lokesh informs that, he has received instructions to appear for the Applicant and he undertakes to file Vakalatnama within two weeks.

The Application is filed with a prayer to direct release of the Applicant in connection with crime No.120 of 2021, registered with Bhiwandi City, Police Station for offences punishable under Sections 498-A, 323, 504 & 506 read with Section 34 of the Indian Penal Code and Sections 3 & 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act, 1961. 5.
This Court by way of order dated 20th September, 2021 had granted ad-interim relief.

It is seen that for some time mediation was also going between parties. It is not clear as to whether the mediation is failed or successful. Since the matter has not appeared on board after 5th July, 2022 till 5th March, 2024.

Learned APP informs that he has not received any instructions from the concerned Police Station. 8.
Considering that it is a case of matrimonial dispute and that the present Applicant is father-in-law of the complainant, this Court finds that after these many years no purpose will be served by taking the Applicant in custody.

Application is therefore allowed in terms of Clause (i) of the order dated 20th September, 2021.
