The petitioners are before this Court since the authority concerned before whom they made an application under section 48 of the Land Acquisition Act, 1894 did not grant stay. These petitions are pending before this Court since 2015. The petitioners claim to be in possession of the property till date. Though the petitioners have not stated in the writ petitions, now the petitioners contend that compensation amount has not been received by them till date.

Since the application made by the petitioner under section 48 of the Act is pending before the competent authority, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the writ petition, we dispose of this petition with direction to the respondentcompetent authority to decide the said application on its merits within a period of three months from today.
