In the light of the authoritative pronouncement of the Hon'ble Supreme Court in the case of Union of India and Anr. vs. Sanjeev V. Deshpande1, we do not think that the petitioner can say and successfully that there is no breach or violation of the stringent law, namely, Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substance Act, 1985. The writ petition is, therefore, devoid of merits and it is dismissed.

In the event the petitioner seeks any relief, particularly in the nature of revocation of suspension of his courier licence granted under the Courier Import and Export (Clearance) (2014) 13 SCC 1 J.V.Salunke,PA

918-WP.8010.2018.doc Regulations, 1998, the petitioner can approach the competent authority with a request to revoke this suspension. In the event that authority is approached, it will apply its mind independently and if permissible, consider the grant of such reliefs as are permissible in law. This order and recording Mr. Jetly's statement that there is such an opportunity available is enough to dispose of this petition as above.
