The prayer of the Petitioner is that, the time period of furlough leave or parole leave be enhanced, lies within the purview of State Government.

The Prisons (Bombay Parole and Furlough) Rules, 1959 have been enacted by the State of Maharashtra in furtherance of power arising out of Section 59 of the Prisons Act.

3.

Since the grievance of the Petitioner is matter of policy, Petitioner is entitled to make representation to the State Government in that regard. Petition is accordingly disposed off.
