Petitioner's grievance is that the Gram Panchayat which taxed the subject property for seven years stopped taxing the same on the ground that a suit for specific performance is pending between the petitioner and the real owner of the land. Perused the record. In the facts, no interference is warranted at this stage.

rpa 2/2 wp-8718-15.doc The learned counsel submits that inspite of giving six reminders, the Gram Panchayat is not levying tax. The petitioner is entitled to bring this development to the notice of the Chief Officer of Zilla Parishad, Panvel. If appropriate representation is filed, the Chief Officer, Zilla Parishad, Panvel shall look into the matter and do the needful in accordance with the law.
