This petition is filed by the original petitioner complaining of respondent No. 2 - District Collector, Pune for not having complied with directions issued by this Court in an order dated 17.9.2018 passed in Writ Petition No. 10365 of 2018. Pursuant to such order, the Collector was required to dispose of the application of the petitioner filed under Section 63 of the Maharashtra Tenancy & Agricultural Lands Act, 1948 preferably within six months from the date of appearance of the petitioner before the said authority.

1. civil cp 302-19.doc Admittedly, till date, final order is not passed, hence, the Contempt Petition.

Learned AGP appeared on advance copy and produced on record a letter dated 6.8.2019 received by the office of the Government Pleader from the Office of the Collector, Pune conveying to him that the hearing is going on; due to election duty in the past the proceedings could not be disposed of. Learned AGP assured us that the same will be done urgently. The letter dated 6.8.2019 is taken on record and marked "X" for identification.

One may notice that ten months have passed since disposal of the Writ Petition. Though we are not entirely satisfied with the slow progress made in the proceedings, as a last chance, two months additional time is granted to the Collector to dispose of the proceedings. He shall pass final order therein without fail within two months from today. With this direction, the Contempt Petition is disposed of. [ S.J. KATHAWALLA, J. ] [ AKIL KURESHI, J ]
