1] The present PIL has been filed by the Petitioner allegedly in the public interest in order to bring certain incidents to the notice of this Court.

2] Certain allegations were made by the Petitioner that the investigation in the matter is not being done in an independent manner.

3] When the matter was listed before this Court on 29th June 2018, learned GP had made a statement that the Director General of Police (DGP) would inquire into the matter and submit BGP. 1 of 3

his report to the Court. Vide order dated 13th July 2018, we had directed the Petitioner to appear before the Director General of Police (DGP), so that his statement could be recorded. 4] Pursuant to the orders passed by this Court, the Director General of Police (DGP) has conducted an inquiry and submitted his report on 9th August 2018 in sealed cover. We have opened the seal and perused the report. From the perusal of the report, it would reveal that the Petitioner's allegations were with regard to two incidents. Insofar as the first incident is concerned, Director General of Police (DGP) has found that the Petitioner has not been in a position to substantiate the said allegation.

Insofar as the second incident is concerned, it has been found that the charge-sheet is already filed in the competent Court at Thane and as such, competent Court at Thane is seized with regard to the said incident. 5] From the perusal of the report submitted by the Director General of Police (DGP), we find that the grievance of the Petitioner that the matter should be conducted by the highest police authority stands redressed. The Petitioner himself has stated that he has complete faith on the present incumbent in the office of the Director BGP.

General of Police (DGP) i.e. Shri. Datta Padsalgikar. In that view of the matter, we find that the Petition has served its purpose. Accordingly, the PIL is disposed of.
