1] A communication is received from the Additional Sessions Judge, City Civil & Sessions Court, Greater Mumbai, through the Registrar, Judicial II, seeking extension of time to dispose of the Sessions Case No.774/2014.

2] I have perused the said communication, which seek extension of six months to conclude the trial.

3] Worth to mention that on 13.10.2016, while hearing the Bail Application of the accused, a direction was issued to expedite the trial and to make an endeavor to conclude the same within one year from the date of receipt of the order. Thereafter, on four occasions, extension was granted i.e. in the year 2017, 2018, 2021 and 2022. On 1/2

(2)BA-1594-2015.doc first two occasions extension of 9 months was granted and on the subsequent two occasions, time was extended by one year. The Additional Sessions Judge has informed that he took charge of the concerned Court in the month of June 2022 and thereafter he concluded recording of the evidence in the case and now it is posted for recording of statement of accused under Section 313 of the Code. It is submitted that the matter is likely to be disposed off within a short period and six months extension is sought for. 4] In the background fact, where, as early as in the year 2015, direction was issued to conclude the trial expeditiously, I deem it appropriate to grant extension of 03 months by way of last chance. It is made clear that, no further extension shall be granted. Copy of this order shall be communicated to the concerned Judge through the Registry.
