This is an application received through jail. Applicant undergoing sentence at Kolhapur Central Prison has stated that, he has been provided with an Advocate at the cost of Government from the panel of Legal Aid Committee. However, now he intends to appoint Advocate Mr.Aniket Nikam to represent and espouse his cause. He therefore prayed that, the Vakalatnama of Advocate Mr.Aniket Nikam be taken on record by discharging the Advocate appointed by the Legal Aid Committee.

It is a matter of fact on record that, Appellant had filed present appeal through jail. This Court had directed Legal Aid Committee to appoint an Advocate to represent the Appellant. Accordingly, Advocate Mr.Mandar Soman has been appointed by the Legal Aid Committee to represent Appellant. Record further indicates that, said Advocate Mr.Mandar Soman on earlier at least three occasions had appeared and represented the case of Appellant before this Court.

As at the inception, Appellant set the entire system into motion for appointment of the Advocate at the cost of Government who prepared himself and appeared before this Court, at a belated stage the Appellant intends to appoint an independent Advocate at his own cost, his prayer can be accepted subject to Appellant pays cost of Rs.10,000/- to Kirtikar Law Library, High Court, Mumbai, within a period of two weeks from today. 5.

Subject to payment of aforestated cost, Advocate Mr.Mandar Soman is hereby discharged and Advocate Mr.Aniket Nikam is permitted to file his Vakalatnama on behalf of Appellant.
