Civil Application No. 85 of 2017 is allowed without prejudice to the rights and contentions of the parties so far as the merits of the case. The petitioners are permitted to amend the Public Interest Litigation, including the prayers within a period of two weeks. The amended Public Interest Litigation Petition to be filed within two weeks.

The petitioners are also directed to file rejoinder, if any, within a period of two weeks.

Learned senior counsel Mr. Dwarkadas brought to our notice that though there is no taking cognizance of any offence so far as the party respondents are concerned, there were reports about action being initiated by the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) against the party respondents. The learned Government Pleader clarifies that such submission was to the effect that a complaint was received and it is in the process of verification and nothing beyond that but no cognizance of any offence is taken by the ACB as on today.
