This is a petition filed under Section 29A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, seeking extension of the mandate of the arbitrator.

Attention of this Court is invited to the order dated 16.08.2018 passed in a petition filed under Section 11 of the Act for appointment of the arbitrator, wherein this Court in Arbitration Petition No.89 of 2017, while appointing the arbitrator directed that the final award shall be passed within six months from the date of the order. 3.
The parties have appeared through counsel and a joint request is made for extending the mandate of the learned arbitrator by a further period of six months, in the light of a letter sent by the learned arbitrator to this Court, which is at pages 36-38 of the present petition. 4.
Considering the material on record, the mandate of the learned arbitrator is extended till 31.05.2023. The final award be rendered on or before the said date.

Petition stands disposed of.
