Heard Mr. Patil, the learned advocate for the petitioner, the learned AGP and the learned advocate for the respondent no.2. 2.

According to Mr. Patil, learned advocate submits that under the provisions of the Maharashtra Agricultural Produce Marketing (Development and Regulation) Act, 1963, administrator cannot be appointed beyond period of one year. In the presence case, the administrators have continued for more than two years and still the elections of the AMPCs are not held. For one or the other reason, the elections are postponed.

It appears that earlier because of the torrential rain in the state, the Government had passed resolution that the elections of all Co-

Now, on 6th September, 2022 an order has been issued by the respondent no.2 thereby prescribing the program for the elections to be held of the APMCs. In view of that, the purpose of writ petition to large extent stands fructified.

We hope and trust that the respondents shall conduct the elections as has been notified in the order dated 6th September, 2022 referred to above and the said elections shall be held accordingly. It is high time, now the elections of the APMCs are held more particularly in view of the fact that for more than 2 years the administrator has continued to function instead of the elected committees. 5.
