This is an applications sent through Jail for reduction of bail amount from Rs.3.00 lacs to Rs.25,000/-. The applicant Anees Pathan is accused No.1 in NDPS Special Case No.74/2013. By an order dated 28.5.2013 the applicant was directed to be released on bail by the Special Court on condition of executing PR bond of Rs.3.00 lacs with solvent surety or cash security of the like amount. The learned counsel appointed for the applicant submitted that the applicant has informed her that even if the bail amount is reduced to Rs.25,000/- he is unable to secure that amount or to furnish sureties in the like amount. He has also informed the learned counsel a request may be made to this Court to expedite the trial as the applicant is in Jail since 30.11.2012.

2) The record discloses that even though the applicant was directed to be released on bail by an order dated 28.5.2013 he is still languishing in Jail. In view of the above, the learned Judge seized of

2 /2 NDPS Special Case No.74/2013 at Greater Mumbai is hereby directed to expedite the trial of the applicant and conclude the same on or before 31.12.2016.
