The Petitioners, by this Petition filed on 22 July 2019 are seeking a direction that they may be appointed pursuant to the selection process of the year 2018 conducted by the Respondent No.2 - Municipal Corporation.

The learned Counsel for the Respondent - Municipal Corporation states that the advertisement was issued on 3 September

40. WP 2026.22.doc 2018 and the entire process was completed by the time the Petition was filed on 22 July 2019. The prayers in the Petition are all regarding the selection process of the year 2018. Not only the process is complete but it is almost five years since the process is complete and selected candidates have been appointed. 4.

At this stage it is not possible for us to issue directions that the Petitioners be appointed pursuant to the selection process of the year 2018. As and when the new recruitment/selection process is commenced, it is open to the Petitioners to apply and in case, they are not held to be qualified, we keep all the contentions raised in the Petition open.
