Petitioner, a convict seeks benefit of

2/3 WP-3824-2019 (SR.10) remission scheme floated on eve of 125th Birth Anniversary of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar.

Learned APP, on instructions submits that, appraisal report under Section 432(2) of Criminal Procedure Code is sought from convicting Court namely, IIIrd Additional Sessions Judge, Nashik and it is still awaited.

We therefore think, interest of justice, can be met with by directing that Court to expedite the action and to submit appraisal report to Competent Authority within six weeks from the date of receipt of this order.

Competent Authority shall, within further period of six weeks after receipt of appraisal report, take suitable decision in accordance with law.

Petition is thus partly allowed and
