By the present petition received through jail, Petitioner has requested this Court to order investigation by CID or Crime Branch in to the death of his wife Salma Qureshi.

In pursuance of order dated 24th November 2022, learned APP has filed an affidavit of Mr.Swapnil A.Patil, Assistant Police Inspector, Cuffe Parade Police Station, Mumbai, dated 9th December 2022. It is stated therein that, Shubhlaxmi Shankar Reddy @ Salma Shafique Qureshi was admitted in Nair Hospital for medical treatment and she died in Nair Hospital on 12th April 2013 due to illness. ADR No.00/13 was initially registered at Agripada Police Station and the same was transferred to Cuffe Parade Police Station and numbered as MANISH SURESH THATTE MANISH SURESH THATTE Date: 2022.12.20 10:36:07 +0530 ADR No.27 of 2013. After making inquiry in to it, final report has
2 of 2 33.WP.3322.2014.doc been submitted by Cuffe Parade Police Station, seeking summary report of natural death u/s.174 of Cr.P.C. Upon receipt of such report, the Executive Magistrate, Colaba Division, Mumbai has passed an Order dated 28th May 2014.
The Medical Panel attached to Nair Hospital has given final cause of death of deceased as Alcoholic Hepatitis with Hepatic Encephalopathy (Natural). Copy of said post mortem notes dated 26th April 2013 is annexed to the affidavit.

It is, thus, clear that wife of Petitioner died natural death and suspicion of Petitioner of her homicidal death is unfounded. 4.
In view of the above, we find no reason to further entertain present petition.
The petition is accordingly disposed off.
